Davina has worked in the agricultural sector for 35 years, foremost on her family mixed enterprise farm east of Dumbleyung. She has been secretary/director of the companies and heavily involved in the finance and business structure for 30 years. Recently the enterprise changed focus to a lease and share-farming arrangement which affords opportunities to further explore the rich tapestry of agriculture.

Previous work includes facilitation, community consultation and coordination in rural communities and working with farmers on strategic plans as a facilitator for the Drought Pilot program through Curtin University. Davina has been involved in the governance of a broad range of not for profits including community groups, strata body, sporting organisations, education and St John Ambulance and has worked at and co-managed the local Community Resource Centre. She recognises the diverse interests and skill sets of our rural women which she values as one of the many benefits those living and working in small community’s gain.

Her Other passions of Davina include health and wellbeing, especially of those in regional and remote areas and she holds a Bachelor of Health Science (Complementary Medicine) degree, having trained as a naturopath and furthered studies in emotional health, behaviour and communication.

Davina also has an interest in mentoring, engaging and supporting the next generation into agriculture. Davina enjoys sharing her learnings and skillset whilst enriching her experience through the learnings of others. She is watching the sustainable agricultural space with interest and sees a lot of opportunities moving forward.
